Florida Holocaust Museum’s new exhibit

The Florida Holocaust Museum has a new exhibit called The Borscht Belt: Revisiting the Remains of America’s Jewish Vacationland.
The Borscht Belt were sites that were once booming with Jewish culture.
The photographs were originally curated by Jewish photographer and author Marisa Scheinfeld.
She portrays the complex history of the Borscht Belt resorts, located in the Catskills in New York.
The resorts were once a summer escape for Jewish Vacationers in the mid-twentieth century.
They served as a cultural hub of entertainment for the Jewish community.
“I hope to convey the message that, while my photographs look like ruins and look like there’s nothing there, I encourage people to really look, because there is something there. There are countless histories and stories, both personal and collective. These are spaces that have tons of narratives, and they hold so much of Jewish imagination and resilience,” said Scheinfeld.
The exhibit is based off of Scheinfeld’s book and worked with the museum to put the exhibit together.
“So, the exhibit is based off the book that Marisa created, she actually grew up in the Borscht belt, she went there for vacation. She did a program with one our programs manager, where she came and talked about the Borscht Belt and the exhibit, her book mainly,” said Museum Exhibit Manager Caitlin Cranfill.
The exhibit is open through May 31st.

New healthcare services at Feeding Tampa Bay
Original reporting by Joana Riva
Feeding Tampa Bay is expanding its services to include healthcare.
A new neighborhood free clinic has been added to the non-profit as a way to make healthcare more accessible and affordable.
The clinic is a good alternative to going to the ER or not seeking healthcare.
“So at Feeding Tampa Bay we want to make sure that the area has a one-stop place that they know that they can come to for their healthcare,” said Feeding Tampa Bay Director of Public Affairs Shannon Oliviero.
Patients of the clinic will have access to pharmacy support, dental care and more.
Walk-ins are welcome or you can book an appointment with the clinc.
