Heath Bodden started rescuing homeless dogs over a decade ago and is now known for serving his community.
When asked how many dogs he’s saved, Bodden said “50, 60 I don’t know, I’ve really lost track. At one
time I was keeping track, but stuff happens so quick.”
“You ask most dog rescue people, they don’t have a clue how many dogs they’ve recused.”
The community refers to him as “Heath the Trapper” as a play on his mission. He waits by his phone for calls about abandoned pets and adoption inquiries.
Fred (shown below) is one of the dogs looking for a new home.
He did not get adopted during his stay at the Hillsborough Pet Resource Center. Bodden picked him back up when he was told that Fred would be put down.
You can contact Bodden at (813) 495-3728 if you want to welcome Fred into your family.
New car safety technology from USF
USF researchers developed a new technology that could prevent car accidents.
Professor John Murray-Bruce and his students made an algorithm that finds the location of objects around corners. The program analyzes shadows cast on surfaces to estimate the source’s position.
“We’re trying to use like an ordinary camera, and capture an image that can let us peer around the corner into places that we would not normally be able to see from our vantage point,” explains graduate student Robinson Czajkowski.
The tech defends from accidents caused by blind spots.
