All pocket pet adoption fees are being waived at SPCA shelters until Sunday, March 31.
The SPCA urgently needs help finding loving homes for these pets. The SPCA’s marketing specialist, Camille Harkenrider shares the variety of animals available.
“We have everything from rabbits to guinea pigs, hamsters, turtles… we even have a pig soon to be available. You can check them all out and learn about them, then come in to meet them anytime we’re open for adoption, no appointment needed,” said Harkenrider.
Even if you can not adopt you can still make a difference by volunteering. Opportunities include dog walking, cat cuddling, and more.

A new traveling exhibit is coming to Tampa Bay
The Sulphur Springs Museum and Heritage Center is currently hosting “Voices and Votes: Democracy in America,” a collaborative exhibit by the Smithsonian and Florida Humanities, aimed at preserving Florida’s rich history.
This engaging showcase will tour several museums across the state, with Sulphur Springs as its inaugural stop.
Nashid Madyun, Executive Director of Florida Humanities, praises the museum’s selection, highlighting its distinction among numerous applicants.
“One of the things that’s impressive about this institution is that it competed with dozens of applications around the state for this exhibition. This exhibition is only going to be shown in five locations in this state this year,” said Madyun.
Featuring a diverse array of photos, archival videos, and voter memorabilia, the exhibit delves into the multifaceted ways Americans have shaped the nation, from impactful protests to the enactment of pivotal laws.
Elizabeth Bird, a Sulphur Springs Museum Board Member, anticipates that the exhibit will ignite meaningful conversations.
“I hope that this exhibit will, in fact, spur people to think about democracy, to think about why it’s important, to think about the threats that they may see around them, and to get out and exercise their right to vote,” said Bird.
The exhibit runs through May 19th. For more information click here.
