USF men’s basketball to play in the Bahamas
The USF men’s basketball team is heading to the Bahamas for the first time later this year.
The team will play in the Battle 4 Atlantis, a basketball tournament featuring eight National Collegiate Athletic Association teams.
Colorado State University, Vanderbilt University and Wichita State University will join USF in the Bahamas.
The tournament will happen during Thanksgiving week from November 26-28.
Tickets are included in the hotel package of your choice, with overnight prices ranging from $615 to $960 per person.
USF announces new men’s basketball assistant coaches
Four new men’s basketball assistant coaches will also join USF on the trip to the Bahamas.
Tee Butters, Jamie Quarles, Derek Rongstad and Logan Ingram have all previously worked with new head coach Bryan Hodgson at Arkansas State University.
This lineup led the Red Wolves to two consecutive 20-win seasons and secured a 25 and 11 win-loss record this past season — the best in the program’s history.
“I couldn’t be more excited about the staff we’ve assembled here at South Florida,” said Coach Bryan Hodgson. “Tee, Jamie, Derek, and Logan each bring a unique skill set that makes us better as a program every single day.”
Tickets for the 2025-26 men’s basketball season are already on sale. Student tickets are free, and guest tickets range from $100 to $200.
Tampa Bay Rays temporarily move to Tropicana Field
With baseball season in full swing, the Tampa Bay Rays are settling into their temporary home, Steinbrenner Field.
The Rays moved across the bay after Hurricane Milton damaged Tropicana Field last year.
Steinbrenner Field is the spring training home of the New York Yankees, but the Rays are now joining them.
It is a smaller field with limited facilities. Still, almost every game this season has been a sellout, with the average attendance hitting the stadium’s full capacity, according to Baseball Reference.
Game tickets to watch the Rays vary from $24 to $126.
USF spring football game to be held on Saturday
The USF spring football game is on Saturday at USF’s Corbett Stadium.
Fans can enjoy a fun-filled street fest outside the stadium starting at 4 p.m., featuring food trucks, kid zones and plenty of photo opportunities.
The event has reached full capacity for the last two years and is expected to bring back many fans.
The game starts at 6 p.m., and an alumni flag football game will bring former players back to the field during halftime.
Students with a valid USF ID can pick up free tickets online or at the ticket office.
General admission tickets are $10, and the proceeds will benefit the Bulls Club, USF Athletics’ annual fund.
USF football season ticket members only pay $5.
Parking lots on Sycamore Drive and by the Yuengling Center will be free and open for tailgates.
USF’s Corey Braun in award watchlist
A USF pitcher has been named to a watchlist for the 2025 National Pitcher of the Year.
Corey Braun is a left-handed pitcher with a 2.39 Earned Run Average across 68 innings pitched.
He leads the Bulls in strikeouts with 57, and he’s among 56 pitchers on the College Baseball Foundation’s watchlist for the award.
“We are extremely excited about the group of pitchers who are leading the way in 2025,” Pitcher of the Year Award co-chair Chris Snead said. “This will be a difficult choice to select the best of the best.”
The award will be presented “later this year,” according to College Baseball Foundation’s website.
