Big John’s Alabama BBQ is situated on North 40th Street in Tampa, Florida. The restaurant has seen three generations of a family legacy that started in 1968 by the original Big John- Reverend John A. Stevens.
Recently, Big John’s was named the #1 BBQ spot in Florida, by Southern Living Magazine.
“That’s one thing about us with our food and with our interaction with our customers,” said Corey Miller, grandson of Big John. “We want them to feel their part, y’know, feel like a family. So, when we have people come in, hey, we got friends.”
“If I can use Big John’s as a microphone or platform to reach people: let our food speak to that person’s soul and their mindset,” said Miller “This tastes good, but it takes work.

University of South Florida is launching an A.I. and Cybersecurity College
USF is the first University in the state of Florida to announce plans to create a college focused on artificial intelligence. With A.I. being on everyone’s radar, computer science professor Dr. Sudeep Sarkar thinks the growing demand for this kind of skill set, justifies the initiative.
“If you look at computer science, we have roughly 3,000 students,” said Sarkar. “Our student to faculty ratio is 60:1.”
“USF is becoming a global research institution. This… in all honesty, just proves that USF is not thinking of the present, but it’s thinking about the future, as well,” said USF Student Body President Cesar Emeraldi.
The college is expected to launch Fall 2025.
