Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry offers various showtimes daily. SPECIAL TO Z NEWS/MOSI

The new dome at Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry opened on April 1 — and this is not an April Fool’s joke.

MOSI’s new 8K-resolution digital dome theatre is now the second largest in the country.

It comes only after Liberty Science Center’s 88 million-pixel Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium in New Jersey.

MOSI’s planetarium has a 10,000-square-foot screen that can take visitors to different galaxies.

The Museum of Science & Industry’s planetarium has around 330 seats. SPECIAL TO Z NEWS/MOSI

The dome is open daily. Tickets are $20 for those 18 and up and $15 for those below 17.

With tickets, visitors can choose one of the shows below to watch. Times are subject to change.

If you leave your session wanting to explore some more, you can watch an extra show for $5.

Although looking at different galaxies for around 45 minutes might make you hungry, food and drinks are not allowed inside the dome.
