Wilfredo Quispe, 49, has worked with MIT Computers as a technician since April of 2010 with the founder. He then slowly worked his way up to store manager at the Citrus Park location from 2012-2015. At the end of 2015, he switched to New Tampa as a technician and an assistant store manager.

“I start mechanical engineering, I am a mechanical engineer, but I really work more with computers because I like technology,” said Quispe. “I like to be curious.”

Before coming to the United States, Quispe lived in Lima, Peru. He wasn’t sure in which direction he wanted his career to go. In Lima, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for hospitals.

“I was planning to work with air conditioning or computers,” said Quispe.

In order to start working with computers, Quispe had to study for and pass the CompTia A+ certification. After doing so, he could focus on this career.

“It’s like a hobby, something I like to do,” said Quispe. “Also I like to help people because which they have problems, maybe a student like you and they need it to be fixed as soon as possible. So when I do it I feel good.”
