TAMPA – Students at USF can apply to study abroad in over 25 different countries for Summer, Fall or Spring semesters, according to the USF website.
A popular program is the Study Abroad in France program where students will spend four weeks in Nice, taking classes and exploring. Students will get a French language class credit from one of the offered courses. There are excursions throughout the week where students will go to different cities and landmarks. Students can talk to their advisor about applying to a program.
“You do language classes, you’re immersed in the culture, they even take small field trips around town in the language classes,” said Elizabeth Lovelady-Alfonso, a faculty leader at the Department of World Languages. “You can receive up to six to seven language credits, from a range of classes from French one up to 3,000-4,000 level French classes as well as your study abroad credits.”
Students can visit the USF website to find more information and more programs available for application. To apply, after speaking to your advisor, students should look at what country they want to go to and then speak to an advisor from the Ed Abroad department.
There are many benefits to studying abroad as well as many motivations to study abroad. “I wanted to improve my Spanish speaking skills,” said USF student, Maximo Zappani.
