The USF SunDolls are competing at NDA Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL. The team will compete in prelims today with the hopes of advancing to finals tomorrow.
For the first time in history, the SunDolls compete in two categories: Pom and Team Performance. After earning 4th place in the nation last year in their second season competing, the team is hungry to prove themselves in both categories and become National Champs.
SunDoll Vet Karina Bartlett shares her new approach to the training process.
“But this year I’m just much more focused on my teammates and making sure that I’m
delivering like the best quality of the dance for them.”
The SunDolls hosted a final showcase on Monday, April 8 to show off what they’ve been working on all season, premiering their nationals routines to the public. Rookie Sylvia Hernandez shares her experience in her first year on the team.
“I know like college dance teams are so hard and you don’t really know what’s up like what
it entails until you’re on it but this year has been nothing short of amazing…we’ve
worked so hard to get where we are now.”
As the SunDolls perform in prelims today, they hope to return with another championship for Tampa Bay during finals tomorrow.
