Riverview small business rebuilds after Hurricane Milton

Wolfe’s Produce Market in Riverview is looking to its community for support in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.

The farmer’s market is working towards replacing their red metal roof. The roof was crunched by the high winds of the southern eyewall of Milton. Co-owner of the market Jeff Wolfe described the experience of seeing the damage to his business for the first time.

“I can’t really say the first thing … on camera … probably what I was actually thinking … but you know … kind of like a gut punch,” Wolfe said.

This is the second time his produce has experienced damage since opening the market with his twin brother, John Wolfe, 17 years ago.

When an EF1 tornado hit their stand, the community rallied together to support them through their first rebuild.

Wolfe is hopeful the community will continue to back his family’s business and purchase their produce locally. He says with the support of the community, as well as Federal Emergency Assistance, Wolfe’s Produce Market can begin to rebuild.

Tampa residents could see utility bill changes

Tampa residents may notice temporary changes in their utility bills, as city officials work to address challenges caused by Hurricane Milton.

Due to debris left behind by the storm, it has become difficult for workers to read water meters in some areas.

Affected residents will receive estimated bills based on their average daily water usage over the past 12 months.

The Tampa Utilities Call Center is available for further questions. Residents can reach the center at (813) 274-8811 for more information on the changes.
