Aerials of Tropicana Field

No one knows for sure where the Tampa Bay Rays will be playing after the next baseball season. In April 2025, they will temporarily relocate to Steinbrenner Field (Spring Training Home for the New York Yankees). However, where they will play after that is still up in the air.

The Rays have had two strikes thrown their way: the first came from Hurricane Milton ripping off the fabric roof off of Tropicana Field followed by strike two, the Pinellas County Supervisors delaying a vote on whether to approve taking out bonds to finance $312.5 million for a portion of the stadium costs.

Fortunately, the St. Pete City Council voted last week to approve issuing $287.5 million for a share of the stadium costs.

So, what does this all mean for the home team and their fans? In this Z NEWS PODCAST, USF Zimmerman student Trent Ferguson digs deep into the Stadium Saga. His guest is sports reporter and analyst Steve Carney from stpete9.com.
