A local brewery is committed to supporting USF student athletes.

Thirsty Buffalo Brewing and the Fowler Avenue NIL Collective recently came together to create the Brahman Golden Ale.

The crisp and refreshing 5.1% alcohol by volume golden ale is perfect for tailgating and drinking at sports events.

Thirsty Buffalo Brewing co founder and owner Mike Bishop explained how the collaboration came to life.

Bishop said the Fowler Avenue NIL Collective had been talking to other breweries, but “nothing really made sense.”

The collective was voicing that they hadn’t found the right partner yet when Bishop’s name came up.

“He goes ‘I got a guy, he’s an alumni and makes fantastic beer. Let me connect you,’” Bishop said.

Bishop is a USF alumnus who has been in the craft beer industry for almost 15 years.

He said the Fowler Avenue NIL Collective partnership took shape quickly, from the beer style to the can design.

Every sale will go directly towards supporting USF student athletes.

Will Turner, the collective’s director of fan engagement, explained that the deal is a “win-win” for both partners and athletes.

“The beer just serves as another stream of revenue for us to put on our fundraising pool for the student athletes,” Turner said.

Turner explained the partners get a “kickback” of all the beer sales that are produced, which goes back into the pool and gets distributed to USF student athletes.

The beer is available at Thirsty Buffalo Brewing’s locations in Odessa and Land o’ Lakes, as well as bars and restaurants around the USF area.
