Tampa General’s Innovation Center grand opening will bring a new age of tech to the hospital.
The 32,000 square foot building sits in the middle of Ybor’s new Research and Health District.
The center focuses on reshaping healthcare and creating new breakthrough technology.
It will serve as the Tampa headquarters for tech giant Palantir.

Tampa Theatre’s 100-year celebration

Tampa Theatre is celebrating 100 years with renovations and an expansion.
The second-century campaign will focus on improving the theatre inside and out.
Duncan Auditorium is getting restored, and 3,000 square feet of educational space will be added.
The historical Duncan Auditorium will be closed from March to September for renovation.
You can still catch a movie at a smaller screening room, and popcorn production will remain at full speed.
“Inside the theater, the seating is going to be a little bit more developed in some of the shows and aspects, the lighting and a lot of the backstage stuff we don’t really see, but it makes every event a little better,” said Assistant House Manager Paige Glaser.
This campaign will help ensure the theatre has another good 100 years
“It’s our turn now, as this generation, to make sure that it is set up for success in its second century, and that someday we’ll be able to turn the building over to that next generation fully restored, absolutely intact and running strong,” said Director of Marketing and Community Relations Jill Witecki.

Temple Terrace park upgrade

A Temple Terrace park is getting an upgrade.
The installation of a new playground at Riverhills Park started on Monday, after the old equipment was removed last week.
Temple Terrace Parks and Recreation say the construction should take about three weeks before the playground is ready.
Families can still visit the park and use the boat ramp while construction is taking place.
