Cross Bay Ferry is returning to Tampa Bay
The Cross Bay Ferry is making a comeback. Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority is buying two new high-speed passenger boats to revive the Cross Bay Ferry service between St. Pete and Tampa.
It was initially shut down because of a contract issue with the previous operators.
PSTA is considering Hubbard’s Marina as a potential new ferry operator. They’re making their final decision at the end of the month.
Feed-A-Bull food pantry expands
Feed-A-Bull opened in 2015 with just a few shelves of food. Back then, it served a few hundred students. Now, the pantry sees more than 10,000 visits a year.

This year’s renovation doubled storage and added bigger refrigerators. That means students can take home fresh produce. Soon the pantry will have milk and even deli items donated by Publix. The project was funded by a $100,000 donation from the Mosaic Company.
“We originally started in a very small little 8×10 office in the student outreach support office and now we’re down here in our newly constructed bigger space,” said Katie Webster, director of Feed-A-Bull.
Student volunteers help keep the shelves stocked. Feed-A-Bull now operates three locations across USF campuses, providing food and personal care items free of charge to students who need them.
