Bulls Racing overcomes budget cuts

Earlier this year, the Bulls Racing team lost their shop and equipment due to budget cuts. But that wasn’t going stop them from building a race car. With only a year left to prepare for Formula SAE competition, the team had to work outside, in parking lots, in any space they could find.

With no shop, much of the work was done outside.

“Yeah, last year we really came close to having the team come to end because of the situation we were in,” Chief Engineer Ray Burdge said. “We lost the shop, we had to figure out how can we build a car with no equipment or any access to a shop at all.”

Through teamwork, perseverance and determination, Bulls Racing finally built their newest car, the F25. The team’s captain, Dante Senmartin, feels the individual parts are a good representation of each individual’s efforts.

“Hard Work” doesn’t properly describe everything it took to build this car!

“At the end of the year I can be like, the part is on the car because of me. I did that. I came up with it. It works or it doesn’t work but it’s something I did,” Senmartin said.

The group is getting ready for FSAE, which starts in May.
