USF GraphicStudio celebrates women in printmaking
Original reporting by Jayden Fernandez
The exhibit “35 Years of Women” features the artwork of 10 artists who’ve worked with the graphic studio over the decades. The show highlights the ever-evolving role of women in printmaking.
Co-Director Sarah Howard says the exhibit recognizes what the artists have brought to the studio.
“Demonstrates the wonderful contributions, artistic contributions that women have made in the role of printmaking and the evolving nature of the medium,” Howard said.
The exhibition showcases a wide range of styles and techniques, from photography and sculpting to mixed media prints, showing the innovation that these women bring to their medium.
Visitor Christina Roa finds it inspiring.
“I think it’s really inspiring to see an all women’s art exhibit… and its something that you typically don’t see often and I think that’s really cool,” Roa said.
The exhibit is open to the public now through March 22.
