Tampa International Airport is the cleanest airport for 2026
Original reporting by Justin Figueroa
Tampa International Airport is getting national recognition for its cleanliness.
At the Tampa International Airport, millions of passengers walk through these terminals every year, but many don’t think about how clean it really is.
Recently, Tampa International Airport has been named the 2026 spotless space of the year.
The global leader in the cleaning industry, ISSA, also known as the association for cleaning and facility solutions, gave the prestigious award to the airport for being one of the cleanest public spaces in the country.
“I think it’ll push us to keep everything spotless and clean so we can be more presentable to customers and be more open and inviting,” said TPA Ground Supervisor Alex Nguyen.
The award highlights the work of the cleaning crews who operate around the clock, 365 days a year, to keep the public space in top condition, according to officials.
From the terminals, bathrooms, seats and tables, no place in the airport is left unclean.
“We are given a section, here I work in cleaning. I clean all the areas, tables, floors, seats, everything,” said airport custodian Kattia Santos.
If you plan on traveling in the summer, the Tampa International Airport will ensure that it will provide a clean, safe and reliable experience, from arrival to takeoff.
