BOCA RATON– One of our former Club Hockey Broadcasters, Cameron Churilla, is making his way through South Florida after getting a new opportunity to work with FAU for Owls Radio.
Since his graduation in Spring of 2026, Churilla has been freelancing his services to universities in the South Florida area. He works with the athletic departments for the schools he partners with, most recently at FAU.
“So I have buddies at Owls T.V. who also just happened to be at Owls Radio as well,” says Churilla. “So I talked with them and they were able to let me on. From this point until the end of 2026, I’m going to be working with FAU Owls Radio and TV to build my television reel and my radio reel.”
For now, he represents the Owls, yet the Bulls will not forget him. During his work with USF, helping others find their passion for sports broadcasting brought on new talent. Logan Buggy, Churilla’s then Color Commentator now Play-by-Play Commentator, found his position through Churilla.

“He granted me an opportunity that, I’m not going to lie that I didn’t even know like was an avenue for me,” says Buggy. “Like I always said I always wanted to do these things but I didn’t really put in the effort towards doing them. Just because I knew this guy like I got into this position and ultimately now I’m in that position now.”
Churilla will continue his freelancing into the near future, focusing on the present and what possibilities wait for him. He has hopes for the next generation of sports broadcasting and pave the way for them.
“The biggest thing for me is be hungry for learning more.” says Churilla. “If there’s a niche or if there’s a specific sport that you want to do, learn that sport, but learn other sports as well. Because if you’re just one-sided, sometimes people view that as a bit rigid. To get rid of that rigidity, do more than one thing. Don’t just do one thing that you’re good at. Do multiple things that you want to be good at.”
