New platform linking youth to professionals locally
Original reporting by Julia Soukar
A new online platform is aiming to simplify how young people across Tampa Bay find support and opportunities.
Launch Hub Tampa brings together resources like jobs, mentorship and education.
“Going on other websites you will find one thing two things but not but not everything in one place,” said Launch Hub Leader Nalini Gajadharsingh.
Instead of jumping between different websites, users can explore multiple categories based on their needs.
“You can automatically go to our site and look for employment, but then you may not even think about what I need for mental health awareness and so when you see it, it gives you that a-ha, like, ‘Let me just click on that and explore those options’,” said President of Leadership and Innovation Tonya Birkley Wright.
The platform is designed to guide young people as they explore new ventures and take their next step.
The Launch Hub Tampa is now live, making it easier to find local opportunities.

Tax Day is here

Original reporting by Ayla Yebba
It’s Tax Day, which means you have just a few more hours to get your taxes filed.
Nearly 164 million individual tax returns are expected this year, according to the IRS.
If you need more time to file taxes, you can request an extension by today. This will give you until Oct. 15 to file without facing penalties.
There are three ways to receive an extension. You can request by mail, use Free File or check the box when making a tax payment in advance of sending in your return.
